The pandemic has left its mark on our travel patterns but as tourism starts picking back up again, you can’t miss out on visiting this splendid city, and here’s why.
Berlin, the capital of Germany, is one of the best possible choices if you’re after a city break in Europe. It ticks all the boxes – it is a city with a rich history, wildest nightlife you can imagine, remarkable sights and museums, terrific food, and world-famous beer. If you haven’t been in Berlin ever or in a while, then we highly suggest making it a part of your go-to list for 2022.
It is a foodie-heaven
Berlin is famous for many things and one of them is it being a European culinary hotspot. From authentic German meals to everything you can think of when it comes to international street food. Known as a paradise among foodies, it is definitely a place where you can indulge in great flavors and leave with dining memories that won’t fade away. In addition to the traditional offer, Berlin is packed with up-and-coming restaurants that offer acai bowls, smoothies, all kinds of salads and so much more.
It is known as the party capital of Europe
Berlin is commonly referred to as the party capital of Europe and we can only echo that. Berlin is famous for bars and clubs that have no closing times. Every district in Berlin has its own unique vibe, so you can count on a wonderful variety of nightlife vibes in the different neighborhoods, too. And, if you’re not the “wild nightlife” type of person, have no fear – there’s something out there for you, too! If you’re in the mood for a chill evening, check out some of Berlin’s beer gardens and you will have a great time without a doubt.
It’s packed with museums
Berlin has over 180 museums, which means that you may need to prepare for multiple trips to Berlin if you want to dedicate time to museums alone. As with partying and food, Berlin has a variety of museums – there’s something for everybody. One thing you shouldn’t miss out on is Museum Island, which sits in the Spree river and it’s home to five of Berlin’s most famous museums. If you’re looking to explore classical European masterpieces, then we recommend you go to the Gemäldegalerie and if you are looking for a lighthearted museum visit, you can go to the Museum of Illusions or the Museum of Things. One thing is certain, wherever you choose to go, you will not end up disappointed.
It’s great for a workation
The pandemic had an enormous impact on the shift to remote work, which in turn led to more people deciding to pack their bags and travel without taking a single day off of work. Berlin is the perfect spot to do this, because Berlin will charm you with a certain briskness about work and the way it is intertwined with a healthy appreciation for the finer things that you can do after work. There are multiple coworking spaces all over Berlin and you will be dazzled by their startupish kind of vibe. Imagine open space concepts, game lounges, ping pong, and splendid, high-quality coffee beans that will make you remember that awesome latte macchiato you had back in Berlin.
Berlin is hands down one of the best places you can choose for your 2022 trip and experience exciting nightlife, terrific food, a shop-till-you-drop kind of offer, and rich culture.
As a digital nomad, you can still combine the whole thing with your job. The icing on the cake is Premier Inn’s Digital Nomad pass, which gives you free extras like Wi-Fi, laundry, spa entry and subway tickets!
How cool is that?
