Sofia – 10 Years of Change

Stephan has known Sofia for 10 years – during which time the city’s face has changed. Parks have been developed, a ring road has been built, dozens of skyscrapers sprang up and now there are several subway lines. Sofia has a school that produces top chefs, Italian restaurants as good as anything you’ll find in Rome, Belgian beer pubs and vegan hipster cafes as well as bars that make you feel as if you’re in London or Helsinki.

Additionally, you’ll find supermarkets and fitness centres that are open 24 hours a day and a nightlife scene that is unrivalled even in Eastern Europe. All of this makes the city equally attractive for students as for highly skilled professionals. And from here, it’s only 3 1/2 hours to the beaches of Greece and an hour to the next winter sports area.
