Reading the “Economist” on the way from Warsaw to Munich. A very interesting article on the impact of IT, the Internet and social media on religions (in this case Judaism) and their attempt to regain influence through prohibitions. Needless to say that Islam exerts even greater influence and Christian religions may want this but no longer have to necessary political power. Proof, once again, that the separation of church and state facilitates progress.
Then there’s a chart about the economic development of the BRICS countries – China with a “very soft landing”, India a little more erratic, South Africa stagnates, Brazil is suffering from the effects of recent political developments, and Russia — Russia may perhaps want to become a normal country that respects the borders of other nations, then growth would be in the cards again as well.
